Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd—2013-2014 (MK74) Jeep Patriot

    Product description

2013-2014 (MK74) Jeep Patriot equipped with E- Marked headlamps (sales codes LMR or LML) built between 24th October 2012 and 27th January 2014

    Identifying features

    RC P12

    What are the defects?

The vehicle may illuminate both the low and high beam headlamp elements when the high beam mode is selected. The headlamps will then draw current in excess of the design specification for the headlamps and associated wiring.

    What are the hazards?

If the headlamps draw current in excess of their design specification, a vehicle fire may start in the wiring loom. Additionally, the excessive brightness of the headlights may cause a road hazard to on-coming traffic and result in an accident.

    What should consumers do?

Chrysler Jeep will notify vehicle owners who can take their vehicle to a Jeep dealership to have the fault repaired and the headlamp and wiring inspected for damage and replaced if required.
