Product description
PX Ranger Double Cab rear seatback latch strap
Identifying features
Campaign number: S1207
Target Number: 4,258
What are the defects?
The rear seatback latch fitted to affected vehicles may not engage correctly. This may result in the rear seatback latch not being secured to the body striker.
What are the hazards?
An incorrectly engaged rear seatback latch may cause the rear seatback to fall forward and may pose a safety hazard to occupants in the event of a collision.
What should consumers do?
Ford will write to owners of affected vehicles. Until the safety recall repair is completed, the rear seatback should not be occupied by passengers unless you have first confirmed that the seatback is secure and fully engaged. You can do this by gripping the top of the seatback nearest the centre and pulling firmly towards the front of the vehicle. If the seatback moves forwards, it is not fully engaged and the seat should not be occupied while the vehicle is in motion.
Owners are advised to contact their Ford authorised dealership for inspection and rectification. For further information, contact any authorised Ford Dealer or Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
