    Product description

    2011-2014 (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee

The brake booster water shield may have been incorrectly installed during completion of Safety Recall P14. All vehicles previously involved in Safety Recall P14 have been transferred to Safety Recall T59 and all repairs are now to be performed according to Safety Recall T59.

For customers who have not had recall campaign number P14 performed on their vehicles, this campaign T59 replaces P14 on those vehicles.

The previous recall can be accessed here: https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/fiat-chrysler-group-jeep-grand-c…

    What are the defects?

The brake booster water shield may have been incorrectly installed during completion of Safety Recall P14. This may cause the brake booster water shield to be less effective in diverting water away from the brake booster assembly, creating the possibility for corrosion and subsequent water intrusion of the brake booster. Water intrusion of the brake booster in a cold climate may lead to freezing and limit the braking ability of a vehicle.

For customers who have not had recall campaign number P14 performed on their vehicles, this campaign T59 replaces P14 on those vehicles.

    What are the hazards?

Limited braking ability can increase the risk of a crash and/or injury to vehicle occupants.

    What should consumers do?

FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles by direct mail. Owners should schedule a service booking with their nearest authorised Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealership for an inspection of the brake booster assembly to ensure that the brake booster water shield is installed correctly. If the brake booster water shield is found to be missing or incorrectly installed, the brake booster will be vacuum tested. Brake boosters that do not pass the vacuum test will also be replaced, free of charge.
