By brad | Mercedes-Benz Recalls | 0 comment | 19 September, 2017 | 0

Product descriptionActros & Arocs trucks

What are the defects? On affected vehicles the screw/bolt in the range group catch bolts may come loose.

What are the hazards? This would reduce the distance of the catch bolt, resulting in gear shifting problems and possible failure of the gearshift system. The loss of shifting capability during vehicle operation may lead to a loss of forward movement and coasting of the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident for the occupants and the surrounding traffic.

What should consumers do?Owners are requested to contact their authorised Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle dealership to have their truck inspected and repaired.

2011-2015 (JF) Fiat Freemont

What are the defects? The steering wheel wire harness may become trapped between a tab on the steering wheel plastic back cover and the edge of the horn plate.

What are the hazards? This may cause the edge of the horn plate to rub through the wire insulation, creating an electrical short circuit which could cause the driver airbag to deploy, increasing the risk of a crash and/or injury to vehicle occupants.

What should consumers do?FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles who can then schedule a service booking with their nearest authorised Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer. The dealer will inspect the steering wheel harness and repair or replace if needed at no cost to the owner.

FCA Australia Pty Ltd — 2011-2014 (LX) Chrysler 300 and 2012-2014 (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee

By brad | Jeep recalls | 0 comment | 12 September, 2017 | 0

Product description2011-2014 (LX) Chrysler 300 and 2012-2014 (WK) Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) and 180 AMP Alternator and 220 AMP Alternator.

What are the defects? The alternator of the affected models may experience diode thermal fatigue due to cyclical loads induced by the electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS).

What are the hazards? If the diodes fail, the alternator will no longer supply electrical energy to the vehicle. This may lead to the vehicle stalling without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Failed diodes may also develop a resistive short circuit that can result in heat, smoke and/or fire originating within the alternator.

What should consumers do?FCA Australia will notify owners of affected vehicles who can then schedule a service booking with their nearest Chrysler Jeep Dodge service centre who will carry out the repairs.

Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd — FUSO Euro 5 Canter

By brad | Mercedes-Benz Recalls | 0 comment | 7 September, 2017 | 0

Product descriptionModel: Euro 5 Canter

What are the defects? On affected Euro 5 Canter trucks the injector fuel return hose may swell and disconnect if exposed to chemicals from paint, shampoo or grease. These chemicals may be used during rear body building or washing.

What are the hazards? If customers continue to use the vehicle while the hoses are in this condition the hose will come adrift from the connector. This may cause a fuel leak, posing a fire hazard.

What should consumers do?Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted directly. Owners are requested to contact an authorised FUSO dealership to arrange for a replacement injector fuel return hose to be fitted.
